Only seven weeks into the fall semester, there were two crimes that took place in Morrisville.
Students received an urgent email on Oct. 1 in the afternoon informing students that an assault and robbery took place near 26 E. Main St. This incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 1. The second incident that took place was of offensive graffiti.
The victim, who allegedly was assaulted by three men, was a student at Morrisville State College. The three males allegedly attacked and hit him numerous times during the altercation. The attackers were able to steal his wallet and book bag before leaving the scene according to the email that was sent out.
On Monday, Oct. 2, David Rogers, President of MSC sent out an email to students and faculty about the recent occurrences taking place in Morrisville. In the email he expressed that this college will not stand for hate.
“We cannot let down our guard and we cannot quiet our voices in defense of what is good and in condemnation of what is destructive,” said Rog- ers, in an email.
